“Skinjob”, An Electronic Dystopian Masterpiece From Chicago’s DISSONA

Get ready to be plunged into the neon, cyberpunk world of Blade Runner with "Dreadfully Distinct" from Chicago’s Dissona, set to be released November 10th, 2023. This second offering, "Skinjob," is a 3-minute and 40-second track that delves into the complex psyche of Agent K from Blade Runner 2049. It´s a purely electronic composition that still manages to feel both organic and authentic. The band is presenting it now in a music video which OUTLET is premiering. The band shares the details:

“It opens with a sub-driven verse section that paints a vivid picture of life on the dystopian streets of Los Angeles. The lyrics resonate with Agent K´s struggle as a replicant, entirely subject to the will of humans. As the song progresses, it delves into Agent K´s internal conflict and the emotions that shouldn´t exist in a replicant, leading to a powerful emotional crescendo.”

Dissona´s commitment to authenticity and creativity extends beyond their music to their collaborative songwriting process, resulting in an electrifying aural and now visual experience. The band members, David Dubenic (vocals), Matt Motto (guitars), Craig Hamburger (bass), and Drew Goddard (drums), collectively shape each composition, carefully sculpting each section as well as the overall flow of the piece in question. Their meticulous approach ensures that every element of the music aligns with the overarching themes and narrative.

"Dreadfully Distinct," showcases Dissona’s ability to create music that is exciting, interesting, and colorful while remaining accessible to a wide range of listeners. The EP is a testament to the band´s evolution and their dedication to crafting a distinctive musical identity. It is recommended for fans of Persefone, Ne Obliviscaris, and Between the Buried and Me.
